How do I configure NCH Express Talk to the engin network? (Windows XP)

Overview

Step 1: Installing the application.
  1. Download the Express Talk application: Download URL
  2. Run the application by double clicking Express Talk.exe file
  3. Do not select any of the other options as most users will not require these features
  4. Click Finish to finalise the installation.



Step 2: Audio Configuration
  1. Select Microphone and speaker and turn on echo cancellation
  2. For codec choices, you have 2 options: G729a and G711a
  3. Select G711a if your connection has the available bandwidth otherwise select G729a
  4. Go to the LINES tab




Step 3: Authentication Details
  1. Enter your name for the Display name
  2. For SIP number enter your engin number ie: 0280040000
  3. Select proxy as byo.engin.com.au
  4. Go to Advanced Line settings


Step 4: Outbound proxy details
  1. Select use a "different outbound server"
  2. Enter syd.byo.engin.com.au or mel.byo.engin.com.au
  3. For authentication username select " Use the default User ID for authentication"
  4. Press OK
  5. Go to the Network tab



Step 5: Network Configuration
  1. Enter local SIP port to listen on as 5060
  2. Enter 16384 for local RTP ports to start listening from.
  3. Press OK.



Step 6: Ready for calls
  1. Your Express Talk should show as registered
  2. Press any of the Lines from 1-6 to get a line out.
