Overview
Before you do anything you need firmware
V85.1.01.eng to use the V85 on engin VoIPer.
To upgrade the Netcomm V85 firmware
, enter the following details.
FTP Server IP: 202.44.167.165
ImageFile Name: V85.1.01.eng
Alternatively, check Netcomm's website for the latest firmware

Step 1: Find the V85 IP address
- In the ‘typical’ environment the broadband
router will assign IP addresses to the V85.
- To locate the V85’s IP address
: MENU/OK ? View ? Network Value ? IP Address
Step 2: Login to the V85 Phone
- Open your Web browser and enter the IP address
of the V85 [found in Step 1] in the Address Bar.
- You will see the following login window. Type “admin” for both Username and Password and click Enter.
Step 3: Ensure version of firmware
is V1.00.01 V85-ENG
- Go the "Overview" menu and double check your are running the right firmware
version
- The version of firmware
should be V1.00.01 V85-ENG
Enter the following parameters as per the image below
- Ph Number: Your engin number
- Password: Your engin SIP password located in the summary page
- Auth ID: Your engin number
- Local port: 5060
- Enter Proxy addr: byo.engin.com.au
- Use outbound proxy addr: syd.byo.engin.com.au
- Set RTP
port: 16384
- Set RTP
packet
interval: 40ms
- Set codec
: G729 or G711
- Set Reg expire: 3600
Step 5: Checking the System tab
- If you are not running the right firmware
version, this is the menu where you will need to perform the update.
- The version of firmware
should be V1.00.01 V85-ENG
Step 6: Configuring a static IP address
- You can select DHCP or assign a static IP address
depending on how you have your network configured.
- engin recommends that your configure a static IP address
for your V85
