Overview

Please note: the Telstra self install kit does not support the following setup. Hence, modems set back to factory default settings will destroy the settings below. In its current configuration set up for BigPond, the SpeedStream modem is not set up to host other servers on the user LAN side. To enable this feature, the PPPoE termination will need to be on the PC rather than the modem.

Step 1: Login to the 4200
  1. Type the modem's URL into the internet browser (address bar in Internet Explorer), eg for BigPond it is http://10.0.0.138
  2. Login into the modem by clicking the "Go" option at the top left of the screen where it says "Log In:"
  3. Enter the username admin: and password admin if needed
Step 2: Add VC
  1. Go to Setup > WAN Interface
  2. Click Add New VC
Step 3: Setup VCI  and VPI values
  1. Enter, VPI: 8 and VCI: 35
  2. Select LLC radio button
  3. Click next
Step 4: Encapsulation
  1. Select PPPoE
  2. Click Next
Step 5: PPPoE Type
  1. Select Bridge
  2. Click Next
Step 6: Disabling PPPoA VC
  1. Disable the PPPoA VC
  2. Enable the OE BRG VC
  3. Click Reboot
  4. The modem is now bridged
