I have an engin 221, how do I enable a DMZ via the Netgear modem /router and assign a static IP address?

Overview


Step 1: Obtain the current IP address for the engin 221
  1. Obtain the IP address of the Engin Internet Phone by pressing ‘Menu’ and scroll to the ‘System Info’ page and press ‘OK’.
  2. Select ‘My IP’
  3. Press ‘OK’.
Step 2: Login to the engin 221
  1. Open a web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Safari)
  2. Enter the IP address of the Engin Internet Phone into the address bar
  3. You will then be prompted for a user name and password. Enter the username: admin, and password: admin
  4. Once logged in, select the ‘Home’ tab from the top of the screen
Step 3: Assign the static IP address .
  1. Go to Home > LAN
  2. Click on the radio button for " Static IP"
  3. Enter IP address : 192.168.0.10
  4. Enter Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
  5. Enter default gateway : 192.168.0.1
  6. Enter Primary DNS: 192.168.0.1
  7. Click Apply when you are finished.

Step 4: Login to the modem

  1. Log in to the modem at its default LAN address of http://192.168.0.1  
  2. Use the default User Name of admin, default password of password, or using whatever Password and LAN address you have chosen for the modem.
Step 5: Enable the DMZ

  1. Go to the WAN setup
  2. Enter the IP address of the voicebox 192.168.0.10
  3. Save all changes and reboot all devices
