How do I configure the Grandstream HandyTone-386 ATA to the engin network?

Overview


Step 1: Discovering the Grandstream HandyTone-386 ATA IP address
  1. Dial *** followed by 02 on your telephone keypad or check your DHCP table by logging into the router which the 386 is connected to.
  2. You will hear the IP address with the zeros. For Example: You hear 192.168.001.101 but you write 192.168.1.101
Step 2: Login to the Grandstream HandyTone-386 ATA
  1. Now you have the IP address so go to your web browser.
  2. Enter the username: 123 and the password: admin
Step 3: Configuring the Grandstream HandyTone-386 ATA
  1. Go to FXS Port 1
  2. SIP Server: byo.engin.com.au
  3. Outbound Proxy: syd.byo.engin.com.au
  4. SIP User ID: 0280040000
  5. Authenticate ID: 0280040000
  6. Authenticate Password: SIP password
  7. Name: Engin Customer
  8. Use DNS SRV: Yes
  9. User ID is phone number: Yes
  10. SIP Registration: Yes
  11. Unregister On Reboot: No
  12. Register Expiration: 1800
  13. local SIP port: 5060
  14. local RTP port: Use random port: Yes
  15. DTMF Payload Type: Send DTMF: via RTP (RFC2833)
  16. Preferred Vocoder: (in listed order) G729A/B, G711a (PCMA)
  17. Silence Suppression: No
  18. Fax Mode: T.38 (Auto Detect)
  19. All other options leave as default
Step 4: Advanced Settings
  1. FXS Impedance: Australia/New Zealand #1 (220 Ohm + 820 Ohm||120nF)
  2. Caller ID Scheme: Bellcore
  3. Onhook Voltage: 36V
  4. Polarity Reversal: No
  5. NTP Server: au.pool.net.org
