How do I setup my ZyXeL P-2302HWL-P1 to the engin network?
Overview
Step 1: Login to the ZyXeL P-2302HWL-P1
Step 2: Define SIP account
Step 3: Add Outbound Proxy
Step 4: Change Codec
Step 5: Change Phone Settings
Step 6: Check Logs

Step 1: Login to the ZyXeL P-2302HWL-P1
  1. Login to 192.168.1.1
  2. Enter username: admin, and password: admin

Step 2: Define the SIP account
  1. Go to VoIP > SIP
  2. Enter Number: Your 10 digit engin number: 0280040000 (example)
  3. Enter SIP local port: 5060
  4. Enter SIP server address: byo.engin.com.au
  5. Enter SIP REGISTER: byo.engin.com.au
  6. Enter SIP register port: 5060
  7. Enter Display Name: Your Name or engin number
  8. Enter Auth ID: Your 10 digit engin number: 0280040000 (example)
  9. Enter your SIP password
  10. Click Apply 
Step 3: Add Outbound Proxy
  1. Scroll down to outbound proxy
  2. Tick Active
  3. Change server address to: syd.byo.engin.com.au
  4. Change SIP port to: 5060
Step 4: Change Codec
  1. Change Session Expiration to 1800
  2. Change codec to G729a or G711a depending on bandwidth and network capacity
  3. Change DTMF: rfc2833
Step 5: Change The phone settings
  1. Go to Analog Phone, and set outgoing call Use to SIP1
  2. Likewise for Incoming settings. Set PSTN line and SIP1
Step 6: Check logs to check if registration has taken affect
  1. Go to Maintenance > Logs
  2. Check if your device is registered
  3. You can now dial out using your VoIP device.
